Hello all, i'm here to teach you how to make icons because so many people can't be bothered, but really its one of the simplest processes ever and takes about thirty seconds when you know what you're doing.
I use a free program called Paint.net because its simple and effective, but any image editing software that has layers will work fine. Paint.net download - www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html
Step 1: Choose an image.
This example is going to be a Katon jutsu using this image.
Step 2: Crop it. Crop until it's decently square or it will warp when we have to resize it.
Select an area using the rectangle select tool and crop the image to that selection.
Step 3: Resize it.
Go to the image tab and hit resize or simply press Ctrl+R
Make sure to untick the box that says 'Maintain aspect ratio' and set the height and width to 75 Pixels for both.
Accept that and your image will become teeny tiny. Perfect icon size.
Step 4. Add the border.
In our lovely discord under the channel called #skill-cards you will find a great array of different borders to choose from, already sized correctly. Simply choose one and save it. Go to the layers tab and hit 'Import from File' Select the border you have saved and it will overlay immediately.
Hit enter and then simply save the image as a .jpg or .png
Congratulations! You now have a 75x75 icon that you can send over discord or upload to whichever image sharing site you use.
