I commented on this matter in admin chat, but the main argument against changing this is that it makes no sense for a mask to hide something like a broken or missing arm.
You could argue that you could just hide everything aside from severe/permanent injuries, but unfortunately the game treats them all the same (it's really just a big text input)

if my lip busted my mask would hide it tho-
it's mainly so that people don't oocly know who you are. if there's any ruling to be had the wounds are still there and whatever. idk, some of the wounds also make no sense to be "seen" ie: concussion, internal damage
it just stinks if people double click you when you're supposed to be unknown and go "ah, yes, it's salmon burning me in my jail cell because their bruised knees injury is showing in the profile"
