I don't think KKG affinities should be a thing, it's kind of unfair to the KKG clans like Yuki or Amagumori, their element is just always going to be weaker against a non-clan KKG user for no reason other than they have the ability to get an affinity for their KKG while the clan cannot. I think affinities should go toward the basic professions & cores only, or if the non-clan has a KKG ability don't let them get an affinity. Leave affinities to the people that specialize in the basic professions. this is me

Saying the same thing like a few others maybe. I dunno.
Core Affinities, KKG Affinities. They all really don't seem to mesh well.
A core affinity like speed affinity makes zero sense at all. Affinities are meant to be talented in a certain area of expertise, prodigies in a style like a element, certain weapon, taijutsu, bukijutsu(marksman), etc. being attuned to a core makes no sense. What will be the point of having core affinities, if your talent is being more reflexive or faster or durable. Doesn't seem like a trained talent, just seems random.
Also, letting affinities stack with boosts is stupid. A core affinity plus the boost from a unique or something like that is absurd. I understand if the affinity is a skill, and the boosts do not touch the skill so the skill affinity will be left alone, but if the affinity is a core and the boost is touching that specific core, then the affinity should be nulled automatically. Which lowkey, is another reason why core affinities make no sense.
Sure, you can say that elemental kekkei genkai is similar to elements, but its' not a basic element. The fact people have elemental kekkei genkais should mean they are already stronger than average elementalist alone. I'd say removing Kekkei Genkai Affinities and Core Affinities would make things more sensible, especially if clans that have elemental kekkei genkai can't have an affinity in that area either. They're already strong enough because they're dual elements put into one. Whats' the point of making kekkei genkai affinities if the clans that have elemental kkgs can't get into them on the grounds of not being non-clans?
tl;dr, if clans can't get elemental kkg affinities, then non-clans with kkg affinities should be given the same justice, as the fact you're able to attain a kkg is no easy feat in of itself anyway. instead of core affinities just stick to the talents in certain fields like basic elements, weaponry, taijutsu, and other things.

tl:dr of this thread 1. Boosts shouldn't stack with affinities 2. KKG shouldn't have affinities because Clans with them get fucked 3. People overplay .5 boosts

I think they should remove affinities entirely and just give nonclans an extra profession/spec slot. It wouldnt be game breaking, it'd just make nonclans a lot more versatile than clans who're usually all specializing around the same things. Makes nonclans more unique in an even bigger way.
That way admins wont have to make a ruling or a perk for every single special .5 combination. I dont know what 2.5 durability does and I dont think the admins are going to tell us anytime soon either.

Tbh affinities shouldn't go into KKG at all, no. Affinities give more appeal to non-clan and I'm cool with them staying in. It's just that they shouldn't go into fields that other clans have, making non-clans automatically better. Tai, Ken. Basic elements. Sure. Otherwise, gtfo.
On a main note. No. Affinities shouldn't stack. Stop. Kk, thx bai.
