- Use common sense. Simple stuff, right? It's a rule of thumb that if your gut says you shouldn't do something, you probably shouldn't do it. That said, this also applies to common role-play rules. This means no metagame, godmoding, IC in OOC or any of those sorts of dealios! If you're not familiar with role-play or these terms, please head over to our guide: Beginner's RP Guide
- Blackscreen rape. Surprise! We don't want to see rape written out in detail in our game, it's not a good time! If you're going to do this type of role-play, please keep it black-screened and don't write out the nitty gritty.
- Underaged Cyber. We understand that some of you like to roleplay certain details when a character reaches the age when they're ready to-- you know, but we're not interested in seeing roleplays of underaged kids doing these things. If you're not sixteen ICly, maybe you should listen to your parents and wait a little.
- Be mindful of timezones. WoN is a breathing, thriving world. Just because someone logs off the game, this doesn't mean their character doesn't exist anymore. If you plan to do something that realistically would have other players trying to stop you, please try to do it when they're online! This most notably includes things such as jail breaks and village attacks.
- Report bugs. It's important that the community makes bug reports when they find bugs. If you find a bug that's abusable and you're found to be abusing it instead of reporting it, you're liable to be banned or worse depending on the severity of the abuse. In the case of being worried about other players abusing a bug, you're free to contact an admin directly!
- Keep alternate character interaction limited. It's fine to have alts. Everyone does it! That said, we don't support alternate characters interacting much, if at all. The only exceptions to this rule is when you absolutely have to due to how a scene might be playing out, etc. This also means no transferring items between characters, ryo, minerals or otherwise.
- Keep obscene content out of OOC. No nudity, gore, or otherwise unsettling links are allowed to be posted in OOC. Keep our chats clean!
- Try to be original. In WoN, we'd like a certain level of creativity when it comes to characters. This means no naming yourself after copyrighted characters from your favorite anime TV shows. (Uzumaki, Naruto, etc.) This also means to make sure you keep with the theme of the game! If your clan has certain naming traditions, for example, please try to make sure you follow them!
- Try not to overplay your abilities. WoN is a freeform game where creativity thrives. While it's encouraged that you play your characters however you see fit and feel most comfortable, please don't take it to mean that your abilities are greater than what your skillcard says. You can't dodge every hit with T2 Reflex, or throw several hundred jutsu with T2 chakra, for example. If you feel like someone's doing this in a fight, remember you can always GMhelp to get a fight ruling!
- Try to solve problems. Tying in with the above rule, we don't encourage players to GMhelp every little issue they have in a fight. Please try to sort things out with your role-play partner if you're able before resorting to GMhelping. Most people are reasonable if you just communicate!
- No futas. WoN is not the place to live out these sorts of dreams.
- Try not to grime. In WoN, we want people to have as much fun as possible with their characters. This means that you should try to respect the hard work others have put into their characters and not mindlessly kill them! We know, death is necessary and apart of the game, but we encourage you find alternatives other than slaughtering just because you can. It can sometimes make a better story to not kill someone! That said, if you're found out to be killing people with poor reasoning, we'll possibly deduct points from your log checks or something worse depending on the situation as punishment.
- Be mindful of your character's age. I know there's a handful of players who like creating below the age of ten and this is fine! However, keep in mind that characters under the age of ten will be given certain restrictions due to their young age. For example, younger players aren't allowed to get any T2 perks!
- Have fun. At the end of the day, WoN is a game. Games are supposed to be fun! It's not about who's winning or losing, but telling a story together as a community. Try not to take things too seriously!
