Varagarv: He's active and some characters can relate to him. His build is kinda wacky but it's not horrible. Picking up stealth is dumb when it comes to teaching since you can only throw T1s, which means that you invested about 10% of your points (or more) for something that you can't really teach at all. The main issue with this guy is that he can't stop himself from arguing with people and getting passive-aggressive (or straight up aggressive) towards them. Crying about a ruling on the forums after it happened is just going to make it seem more like you circlejerk with the people who agree with you. Threatening to not teach people as a starter is something you should never do. Why the fuck do you think you've been given so many things? Bite the bullet and teach TripleHellix raiton even if he calls you the N-word ICly; it's part of your role even if it's not solely it.
My build is a little lacking, simply because I've had to invest a lot of time and effort into making the Seishin clan's techniques on my own, not to mention I'm trying to get some unique's and semi's so going for the clan actually means something. That being said, I've taken stealth because it fits with the character. To make it more viable, I could make techniques that use stealth, hence being able to teach it more? Just an idea (but again i've had my apps section busy with clan apps). I've not had a chance to make more customs for Tai and Doton, simply because of the same issue.
The reason I argue with you guys, and not to sound like I'm going on an ego trip-but the reason is that I've been right in a few cases that would otherwise have people running around still trying to boost jutsu from C to A rank. Yes, I'm a starter but I'm also a player. If things pop up on my screen that seem wrong, I'll voice my opinion. If I get aggressive its just me (sorry) I can get a bit caught up in things and when I realise I'll try to apologise, but that's not an excuse.
This 'crying' business is bullshit. If you're referring to the post that now has a mass majority in support of what I've brought attention to, then you need to simmer down. Literally the response alone is enough to make it clear that I'm not the only one with that mindset, nor am I the only one that believes it should be done. If anything its one of the more recent posts that's had a large amount of contribution. If you can't look past your clique nonsense, it will seem like it's exactly that. I made a post because I felt what a player was told was unfair, and I moved to rectify it for them so their IC and RP would still remain relevant. It seems the outcry of 'clique' only rings out when it's not being done for the people saying it. If it was someone helping you out in this way, I doubt you'd still be making those comments.
And finally, yes- I'm a starter, and yes it is my job to teach people. But- I've never threatened to not teach anyone, that's just putting words in my mouth. If I refuse to teach someone, it's because they're giving me a reason to IC'ly. If said player does come through throwing insults like that? You best bet I'm not teaching them. Not only is it grossly unnecessary, but it's also IC- with IC consequences. If you believe that simply because I'm a starter you deserve being taught, you're wrong. That being said, if your character has a general attitude that indicates they're a problem, I'm not going to teach you either. Why would a village consciously give power to children that are going to use it negatively? There's been so much talk about actions having consequences, but when it comes to it people don't like the consequences part. I'm trying to shape my interactions with you all based on how you interact with me and other people. I've heard complaints about starters just playing robots, so I've been avoiding that as much as possible and making IC interactions reflect that.
